There is a love for “Boomer” nostalgia these days, particularly for furnishings, designs and products from the 1950’s and 1960’s. The terms vintage or retro are often associated with the representative architecture, furniture and fashion design of the period.
Nostalgia, as defined, is a sentimental longing or wistful affection for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations.
As Baby Boomers, we naturally feel affection for all elements of our youth. No generation has seen so much change in their lifetimes as the Baby Boomers born between 1946 and 1964. Longing for the Iconic images and cultural elements from the simpler days of our youth is to be expected and embraced for the pleasure it gives us.
Hansen Lifestyle will develop a series of Blog Posts dedicated to various aspects of Baby Boomer Nostalgia. This is the first and loosely focused on Vintage Style. Enjoy.
